Support

You can support the work of PEDAL many different ways:

Financial Donations

The Pedal Foundation is a charitable organization that supports the programs of PEDAL. Donations made to the Pedal Foundation are eligible for a tax receipt. We are happy to recognize generous donations on our website, so let us know and we’ll include you in our Thanks section.

What your donation helps us accomplish:

Sponsor an Earn a Bike Student
$300 donation ~ Enables an at-risk youth to participate in this five week program, giving them an opportunity to build and earn their own bike, learn pre-employment skills and bike safety

Sponsor a Free Bike
$100 donation ~ Enables 1 free bike to be built and donated to a person in need

Sponsor a Lock & Helmet
$50 donation ~ Provides a helmet and lock to participants in our Free Bike and Earn a Bike programs, ensuring people and their bikes are kept safe and secure

Monthly Donors
PEDAL will happily sign you up as a monthly donor. Your donations support the work of our Earn a Bike, Free Bike and After School Bike programs. Email foundation ATpedalpower.org to set this up.

Bicycle Donations

Your old/unwanted bicycles keep PEDAL rolling! Bicycles and parts donated to PEDAL will be either refurbished and resold/donated, or will be recycled.

Donations of bicycles, parts and accessories can be dropped off either at Our Community Bikes between 11am and 6pm, 7 days/week, or at the Pedal Bike Depot (bring bikes here as there’s much more space!) between 11am and 6pm, Monday through Friday.  Check here for our address and a map.

Volunteering With Us

Our longest standing volunteer Dave with staffers Johann and Jonas.

We have the great pleasure to have worked with numerous amazing volunteers over the years.  All of the staff of PEDAL started out as volunteers.  We love our volunteers and like to think that they love us too. Volunteering gives people an opportunity to figure out how the shop works, where the tools live and how the bicycle works while helping us keep on top of the piles of bikes/wheels/stuff that is donated to us.  Some jobs include overhauling hub bearings, truing wheels, helping us with the recycling, patching tubes and stripping bikes.  Call us at least a day ahead to sort out a time to come in at either shop.
